Dactylic Hexameter Vs Iambic Pentameter
Iambic pentameter has five feet per line with a "da-DUM" rhythm, while dactylic hexameter has six feet per line with a "DUM-da-da" rhythm. The former is most common in English poetry, especially drama like Shakespeare's works, and creates a conversational tone. The latter is the meter of ancient Greek and Latin epic poems like the Iliad and Odyssey, conveying a more grand, narrative style
