Marguerite Yourcenar and Virginia Woolf

This past summer while Amtrak-ing around the states, I picked up Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite Yourcenar and the biography of Marguerite Yourcenar by Josyane Savigneau at Powell's Bookstore in Portland, Oregon. I found both books quite fascinating.

Marguerite Yourcenar translated Virginia Woolf's The Waves over a 10-month period in 1937. Yourcenar was the first woman to be elected to the French Academy primarily based on her Memoirs of Hadrian.
